Times you may need a Virtual Assistant

So you’ve heard of the term, Virtual Assistant and you’re intrigued, but you don’t know when you would use the service.

The most common use of a Virtual Assistant is when a business is in its infancy or small enough that they do not require the services of a full-time administration employee. However, larger businesses could also benefit from the services of a Virtual Assistant at certain times.

  1. Seasonal Work or Peak times

If your company is always super busy at a certain point during the year, then a Virtual Assistant may be able to help take some of the load off your day to day administration staff. Maybe you’re a Tax Accountant and July to October are flat out, or an air-con contractor who never seems to be able to get all their paperwork done in the Summer months. A Virtual Assistant can help out during these times, then when business is back to normal, there is no need to continue (until next year).

  1. Holidays/Leave

Administration staff are indispensable, but what do you do when they go on that well–deserved holiday? A Virtual Assistant can help keep on top of daily tasks at a fraction of the cost of hiring a temp.

  1. One-off projects

You’ve just landed that big job or massive contract, but that means you are going to be run off your feet for a short period of time. Rather than hiring additional staff who may not have a permanent role once the project is over, a Virtual Assistant can assist for the time of the project.

  1. Spring Cleaning

Ok, so it doesn’t happen in Spring, but every now and then, things get on top of you. Maybe your electronic filing or data entry is out of control. Maybe you haven’t had time to update your marketing material or chase up your debtors. A Virtual Assistant can help you get on top of that massive To-Do list and once complete, you can take over again.

  1. Updating Systems

You’ve finally decided to switch from manual invoices to an accounting software package or from paper filing to electronic, but that means a lot of set up work. A Virtual Assistant can set up your systems, enter your data and get it ready for you to use. They may even be able to show you some awesome shortcuts in your new system that you weren’t aware of.
